AUGUSTA, GA – Last November, Jim Steed went before the Columbia County Planning Commission to get approval for an idea he hoped would allow the last surviving dairy farm in the county to remain where it had been since 1934. Steed wanted to try his hand at agritourism, and while some may have felt the move reeked of desperation, Steed held onto his vision throughout the intervening months, and now he’s preparing for the start of his first season.
